MISSION STATEMENT
The Cursillo Movement is a movement of the Roman Catholic Church committed to bringing others to live what is fundamental to being a Christian, using the specific Cursillo method to evangelize.
VISION STATEMENT
Our vision is to become a vibrant and authentic Cursillo Movement in the diocese This will be done by working in a spirit of prayer and service toward the guidelines as set forth in the articles of operation issued by The National Secretariat Office in November 2012.
The Essential Elements of the Ultreya
1. Opening Prayer: We begin and end every Ultreya with an acknowledgment that without Christ we can do nothing.
2. Floating Group Reunion: This enables each person to experience how others are striving in their own spiritual and evangelistic growth; it helps those who do not have a friendship group reunion to find theirs.
3. Witness Talk: Cursillista elaborates on how he or she strives to live what is fundamental for being Christian; love of God, neighbor and the world.
4. Echoes: A brief sharing that provides an echo to the witness that has been presented. These should help awaken a desire amongst the other participants to go forth and do likewise.
5. Spiritual Advisor’s Summation: This is the time for putting the witness and echoes in proper perspective with the Gospel.
6. Closing Prayer: Whenever possible, the Ultreya should conclude with a visit to the Blessed Sacrament.
