SAINT GEORGE CATHOLIC CHURCH

Please contact the office at 435-673-2604 regarding your interest or inquiries about our ministries.

The Neocatechumenal Way does not have membership since it is not an association. The people who participate do so on a voluntary basis, meaning that they come if and when they want to. There are anywhere between 35 to 50 people attending the celebrations and activities.

The Neocatechumenal Way is an instrument at the service of the pastor for the Evangelization and rediscovery of the Christian Initiation by baptized as well as non-baptized adults. It has been recognized by the Church as a form of implementing the OCIA answering to what is stated in the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

“infant Baptism requires by its very nature a
post-baptismal catechumenate” CCC # 1231

Among the participants the following may be identified:

1st. those who desire to deepen and mature their faith.

2nd. those who have drifted away from the Church.

3rd. those who have not been sufficiently evangelized and catechized.

4th. those who come from Christian denominations not in full communion with the Catholic Church.

Meetings are typically in Kuzy Hall on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. If there is no space available, we meet in any location that can accommodate us to pray together and reflect on the word of God. Once or twice a year, an intense catechetical experience which lasts about 2 months, twice a week, over 15 meetings and concludes with a weekend retreat. Every month, a meeting is held for a “Lectio divina” followed by adoration and fellowship. Activities are held year-round. and a retreat is held also.
