RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
Scanlan Building, 2nd Floor
Session begins September 11th, 2017
RCIA is the process by which adults come into communion with the Catholic Church. It is also for those wishing to refresh their knowledge of the Catholic faith. Are you someone or do you know someone who:
- Has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic?
- Wishes to learn more about the Catholic faith?
- Was baptized Catholic as a child, but has not celebrated the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist?
To hear the echo of God’s voice in all these things is to be Catholic and our discussions will form around the following: Faith – Trinity – Sacred Tradition – Sacred Scripture – Salvation History – Rituals – Rites – Bible History and Interpretation – Catholic Beliefs and Practices – Mass –Liturgy – Sacraments of the Church – Church History – Prayer – Creeds – Poetry and Art – Saints – Mary – Advent – Christmas – Jesus – Lent – Holy Week – Easter – Pentecost – Holy Spirit – Holy Places – Places in the Church – Who’s Who in the Church – Social Justice – Dignity of Life – Evangelism – Holiness – Grace – Ordinary Days
Won’t you join us in the RCIA sessions to explore the Catholic faith? We meet weekly on Monday nights and culminate at the Easter Vigil Mass. The journey begins on Sept. 11 at 7:00 pm, Scanlan Bldg. 2nd floor. The 2017/2018 sessions are September through the end of March and you may join us at any time to begin your journey. No registration is required and materials are free. We look forward to having you with us and a pot of decaf will be waiting for you!
